Thank you to all the partners and community members who came out this past weekend to learn about habitat restoration and land conservation that benefits both people and wildlife in the North Fork of the Poudre! We look forward to this annual Healthy Watersheds Tour & Open House each year and this past Saturday was a great reminder why: you can’t beat a sunny day full of learning, community building and exploration.

This year’s tour took us to several private ranches in the Livermore area to learn about restoration projects that are improving riparian health and wildlife habitat while making our watershed more resilient.

📍Stop 1 & 2: Carpenter Ranch - discussed conservation banking and then head to the Calloway Diversion to hear from the City of Fort Collins on their Halligan Dam expansion project

📍Stop 3: Robert's Ranch - explored long-term stream restoration projects and heard from Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) about how this work benefits watershed health, wildlife habitat and ranch operations

Thank you to the North Fork Poudre Site Conservation Team (SCT) and other community members who have supported this tour including the Carpenter Ranch, Conservation Investment Management, City of Fort Collins Utilities, Colorado State Land Board, Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW), Larimer Conservation District, Heather Knight, the Roberts Ranch and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV).
